Smoked Salmon Tacos

    

    For this week's meal I made smoked salmon tacos and they were delicious. The only things I had to purchase were the fish and salsa. I usually always have tortillas on hand from other meals such as the ground turkey tacos or quesadillas. 

    First, I put a thin layer of oil in a pan on medium heat. While the oil heated up, I seasoned the salmon with a bit of pepper, paprika, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Once the oil was hot but not smoking, I cooked the salmon for 5 minutes on one side and then 3 minutes on the other. All the while, I was heating and flipping the tortillas.

   

     The smoked salmon smelled and tasted like bacon and had a crispy outside but still soft inside. I spread a pineapple salsa over the tortillas then placed the fish. I also used jalapeño and poblano hot sauce for some extra heat. I wanted to use mango salsa but could not find any at the store so the pineapple worked just as well and gave it a sweetness that worked great with the smoky salmon and spicy hot sauce.
